Computing with the Amstrad![]() |
IN Rollaball you must guide a number of balls into boxes marked with an X. It sounds a cinch but of course hurdles are placed in your way to stiffen the challenge. Your control is limited to left or right movement and once a ball moves in one direction it is irreversible. The screen consists of passages formed by blocks and fatal flashing obstacles which, if touched, destroy your ball. However with a sharp mind and deft steering you can avoid them. The game has five different screens and 10 speed levels and you can use either a joystick or the left and right cursor keys. The number of balls is unlimited but you race against time. You pay for losing a ball with a time penalty which depends on the speed level. To complete a screen you have to steer six balls into the six boxes at the bottom of the screen. The reward for each success is the appearance of a new, more daunting screen. Rollaball's speed is decided by delay. To alter it just change the number 250 in line 3020 to whatever new value you want. You can also create your own screens by altering existing ones.
