Nim II is primarily an educational game for 5-10 year olds, but can prove to be a challenge for older players too. The program's author, Mark Walker of Warley, describes the program as a sort of mathmatical numbers game. When the program is run a random number between 10 and 20 is displayed. This is the target number, and the player and computer take it in turns to select tiles, numbered between one and nine, attempting to get a combination of values that adds up to the target. The strategy comes in as you attempt to prevent your opponent from reaching the number, as well as trying to reach it yourself. AA#51 |
