BACK in the rainy days of spring a landslide buried a huge nest containing the eggs of the red green-backed Doodlebug. Now summer has arrived, Mother Nature has taken her course and the little red bugs are hatching out all over the place. You control one particular little blighter called Henry and he has suffered the misfortune of hatching out under tons and tons of earth. His only hope of survival is to eat his way to the surface - and it's up to you to get him there. On each screen he must consume all the earth and as many truffles as he can. Truffles are a delicacy and earn extra points but beware, some are poisonous. If you look carefully enough you should be able to tell them apart from the ordinary ones. Unfortunately the landslide also trapped the eggs of the voracious and much-feared Hungry Snapper. These are hatching out as well and the young Snappers, starving after such a long wait, are looking for their first meal. They can't eat earth and they don't like the flavour of truffles. But they just adore little red green-backed bugs, particularly when they've been fried lightly in garlic butter, tossed in a Beaujolais sauce and sprinkled liberally with parsley and thyme. Today they're quite happy to nibble away at the raw variety - and that's you! Can you eat your way through five screens without being taken for lunch? CWTA |
