RUGBY MANAGER JOYSTICK ONLY Loading Instructions Hit CTRL and small ENTER keys together then press PLAY then RETURN Rugby  Manager is a management style game where you must put together the best players  you  can  buy and take your team to the top of the league. If you are one  of  the many people who think, 'I could do better than that!' now is your chance to test your managerial pills! Once  the game has loaded, a team is chosen at random and you will be asked to enter your name. Once this is done, your office will appear. On your desk are a number of items, each referring to different game options. These options are:  1 General Info             2 Transfer Market  3 Your Squad               4 Buy player  5 Check Team Stats         6 Resign as Manager  7 Play match               8 View Division 1  9 View Division 2         10 View Fixtures 11 View Weeks Fixtures     12 Load/Save data Within  each  option,  there  are  menus  and  sub-menus which control various parameters in the game. The menus are listed below in more detail. 1 GENERAL INFORMATION Gives  you  information  regarding  the  club you are managing including which division  you  are in, tne amount of money in the bank, your overall skill and morale levels, and your next opponents and their skill level. 2  TRANSFER MARKET Shows   all  the  players  currently  on  the  transfer  market  and  relevant information.  Should  you  wish  to  take one of your players off the transfer market, simply buy him back. 3  YOUR SQUAD (a)  Move  Player  Selecting this will allow you to position any player within the  team.  When  re-positioning  a player, you will be asked which player you want  to  move  and  the position that you wish tomove him to. The player will then be automatically re-positioned. (b)  Sell  Player  Allows  you  to place a player on the transfer market. Only when he has been sold to a club will you receive the transfer fee. (c)  Information  You  may  obtain  detailed  information  about any player or place  including  number of appearances, tries scored, skill level, morale and value. 4  BUY PLAYER Allows  you  to  buy  a  player on the transfer market providing that you have enough money. You cannot buy a player if you have no room in your squad. 5 CHECK TEAM STATISTICS You  may  check  the  skill and morale of any team and the skill and morale of all the players in that team. 6  RESIGN AS MANAGER Should  the  pressures  of  the  game  become too much for you, selecting this allows you to quit the current game. 7  PLAY MATCH This  is  the  most  important  option  in the program. As the game plays, the vertical  bar  shows the position of the ball. The window at the bottom of the screen  shows  a running commentary of the game and at the right of the screen is the elapsed time. Pressing 'Enter' speeds up the commentary, and hence the game. At the end of the match, all the other weeks results are shown. To  ensure  realism,  the  computer  will actually play each game memory. As a result,  a delay occurs as each game is played. You are then given the amounts of money in (gate receipts etc.) and money out (wages, transport etc.) 8  VIEW DIVISION 1 Shows  you how each team is doing in division 1, how many games they have won, drawn and lost and how many points they have. 9  VIEW DIVISION 2 Shows all the teams in division 2. 10 VIEW FIXTURES Shows you who your team is playing and whether the match is home or away. 11   VIEW WEEKS FIXTURES Shows you who is playing who in the current week. 12   LOAD/SAVE DATA 'Load  Data'  allows you to restore a previously saved game position. This can be  used  to  extend  a game over many seasons. 'Save Data' allows you to save your  current  game  position to cassette. To do this, insert a blank cassette into your cassette unit, press Record & Play, then select Save Data.
