The object of the game is to go through a school day whilst you avoid getting the cane, given to you mostly by the headmaster (Mr. Topman) or from any other member of staff. You can get caned for things such as: being late for class, getting answers wrong, not obeying the teachers, etc.. . To get through school you have to tell the computer what you want to do by typing in "Short English Sentences". The program has quite a large vocabulary in its memory. Here is some of it (abbreviations, if available are given after each word in brackets) . NORTH (N), SOUTH (S). EAST (E), WEST (W), UP (U), DOWN (D), LOOK (L), INVENTORY (INV), TAKE. GET, GIVE. UNLOCK. OPEN, EXAMINE, READ, etc . .. There are also some special words designed to help you in the program: NEW....................................selects the new character set * OLD......................................reverts back to the old one * PON...........................outputs all further text to the printer POFF...........................stops all further text being outputted PAUSE......................pauses the program until you press any key QUIT..........................sends you back to the start of the game HELP.......depending on where you are, may or may not give you a clue SCORE...................tells you your score, to be given out of 1500 SAVE...........................saves your current position on to tape RESUME..........................loads back your previously saved game * SPECTRUM ONLY GOOD LUCK AND WATCH OUT FOR THE HEADMASTER ! !
