Latest sales figures from the software industry (see the news story this ish) show a depressing decline of a whopping 45 per cent in Amstrad sales over the past year. Ouch! The figures are not definitive, and -importantly - don't include information from Ocean, but they're stifl cause for concern, to say the least! Both the Speccy and the C64 did better, according to the figures available, but not much. The strange thing ist there are still plenty of games coming out on the Amstrad, Although gloomy industry pundits are giving the CPC a thumbs-down, software houses are nevertheless continuing to support it The proof of the pudding, as they say, is in the eating. There's a large and active CPC user base out there, and it's not going to go away overnight. Le premier de la gamme fut le CPC 464 en 1984, équipé d'un lecteur de cassettes intégré il se plaçait en concurrent du Commodore C64 beaucoup plus compliqué à utiliser et plus cher. Ce fut un réel succès et sorti cette même années le CPC 664 équipé d'un lecteur de disquettes trois pouces intégré. Sa vie fut de courte durée puisqu'en 1985 il fut remplacé par le CPC 6128 qui était plus compact, plus soigné et surtout qui avait 128Ko de RAM au lieu de 64Ko. |
