GAME DESCRIPTION The old convict shuttle RD370 floats silently in orbit around asteroid 4-GAMMA-7, it's home for the past 17 years. The redundant craft is now the centre of a salvage operation to retrieve the now scarce Sequerra Crystal, a valuable source of energy for present day ion engines. As commander of the salvage ship you have met with few problems so far. Upon completion of the teleport procedure to the shuttle your monitor suddenly indicates teleport failure due to the shuttle's security system. Your only means of escape is to activate the shuttle's own teleporter which requires the correct pass code. The code being unlogged, your only hope is in the form of hidden messages secreted by convicts attempting to escape. The crystal now becomes a bonus, your life being your immediate concern. PLAYING INSTRUCTIONS Salvage is an adventure game with text input and graphics. You may enter ONE or TWO WORD commands in order to progress through the shuttle's many locations in search of the crystal and the teleport code. An on screen note pad is provided for your convenience. To use it, enter NOTE followed by your comment on the command input line. LOADING INSTRUCTIONS Insert program cassette into tape recorder and fully rewind. COMMODORE 64 - Hold down SHIFT and press RUN/STOP. COMMODORE PLUS/4 - Type:- LOAD then press RETURN. AMSTRAD 464 - Hold down CTRL and small ENTER key. AMSTRAD 6128 - Hold down CONTROL and press ENTER. OTHERS - Please refer to instructions on cassette label. GAME SAVE FACILITY Your current situation in the game may be saved on a blank tape or disk if you need to power down the computer but wish to resume play at some later time. To save a game enter SAVE on the command input line and follow the screen instructions. When you wish to resume play, load SALVAGE first, then enter LOAD on the command input line.
