SUPERTED: THE SEARCH FOR SPOTTY ------------------------------- This is going to be a tough mission for our superhero - Superted. His best friend Spotty has been kidnapped by the evil and tricky Texas Pete with his henchman Bulk and Skeleton. Luckily, Spotty is carrying a homing device which he manages to switch on before being bundled into Texas Pete's car. You must help Superted rescue Spotty. Remember Superted is no ordinary bear, he has many special powers - not least of all he can fly! The game will start with Texas Pete's car shooting off the screen and then Superted will be under your control. You can make Superted fly by pushing the joystick up, and can control his speed by pushing the joystick tight to speed up or left to slow down. Take care as you chase after Spotty because Superted will be attacked by Texas Pete's evil forces. The only way to get away is by knocking them out of the way by punching them using Superted's super strength. You do this by pressing the fire button as the bad guy reaches Superted. You must time it very carefully otherwise you could lose a life, if the bad guy gets you (shown by the small heads in the bottom panel). At the end of the first level will be Skeleton standing waving a club over his head. You must try to punch him many times while dodging underneath the club. If you are successful you will be transported into space for the second level where the bad guys get 'badder', the action gets hotter and Texas Pete waits in ambush! Get ready Superted. Spotty is depending on you! THE CHARACTERS SUPERTED - the hero of the game. He is a bear with special powers. He is stronger than is usual for a bear and can fly. He is also rather good at hand-to-hand fisticuffs and packs a mean punch. SPOTTY - Superted's best friend, an alien from the planet Spot. He is rather careless and has a habit of getting lost. TEXAS PETE - the villain of the piece. He's a mean and ugly cowboy who will stop at nothing to get his own way. BULK - one of Texas Pete's henchmen, a large and bumbling idiot who is always making mistakes. SKELETON - Texas Pete's other sidekick. He is almost as bad as Bulk but has slightly more brains. EASY/HARD This game includes two versions. An easy one for the youngster in the house, and a hard version for the more experienced game player. LOADING INSTRUCTIONS CBM 64 - Insert rewound tape into player. Hold down SHIT and press RUN/STOP. Start the tape. SPECTRUM - Insert rewound tape into player. Type LOAD "" and press ENTER. Start the tape. AMSTRAD - Press CTRL and small ENTER together. Start the tape. CONTROLS CBM 64 Use a joystick with fire to punch. RUN/STOP = pause. RESTORE = QUIT.
