What you can do with SymbOS now: - control the mouse pointer with the joystick; fire 1=left mouse button, fire 2=right button
- start control panel, taskmanager and calculator by a SINGLE click on the desktop icons
- minimize all windows by clicking on the "arrow down" symbol in the right area of the task bar
- run an application (type "a:appcalc.exe", "a:apptask.exe" or "a:appsys.exe") with the "run" item in the start menu. You always have to type "a:" even if you start SymbOS from drive B.
- shut down the system with the "shut down" item in the start menu
- call the "SymbOS security" by pressing "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" (ALT is the COPY key on CPC)
- lock the system or change username and password with the "SymbOS security"
- open the start menu by pressing "CTRL+ESC"
- start an instance of the taskmanager by pressing "CTRL+SHIFT+ESC"
- switch between windows by pressing "ALT+ESC"
- close a window or open the shut down dialogue (when all windows are closed) by pressing "ALT+F4"
- change time, date and time zone with the "date and time" item of the control panel
- change screen resolution and colours with the "display" item of the control panel
- monitor cpu and memory usage, watch process states and kill applications with the task manager
- play around and get wrong results with the calculator ;-)
Known bugs: - the system crashs when you move a window completely out of the visible area
- the scrolling of the window content doesn't work, when a part of the window is outside the visible area
- when clicking on a program icon sometimes the system starts the program multiple times
- when switching to Mode 0, in most cases the taskbar is white and produces screen garbage
- the system crash when you paste something with the mouse inside a text input line
- if there is a problem with the disc directly after starting SymbOS you won't be able to load anything from disc even if you change the disc
