Whilst I would still claim to be a non-violent pacifist I have to admit that I rather enjoyed playing this and that I will have another go soon. This company specialises in simulation software and I'm glad that this war game isn't more realistic. It's really a computerised board game with the computer playing the role of opponent. You sec on the screen one of the nine sectors of the battlemap and there are shapes to represent your artillery, infantry and tanks. There is also information about terrain and minefields on the map in graphical form. In each turn you can move each piece up to set numbers' of squares depending upon the starting terrain and fire from either your starting or finishing position. I found it difficult to keep track of my army and would have liked to see the full battleplan on occasions. You are prevented from seeing any sector where you have no pieces, and this means that an ambush is possible. Overall this is well designed and fun, it doesn't have arcade graphics, but it doesn't need them.

Le premier de la gamme fut le CPC 464 en 1984, équipé d'un lecteur de cassettes intégré il se plaçait en concurrent du Commodore C64 beaucoup plus compliqué à utiliser et plus cher. Ce fut un réel succès et sorti cette même années le CPC 664 équipé d'un lecteur de disquettes trois pouces intégré. Sa vie fut de courte durée puisqu'en 1985 il fut remplacé par le CPC 6128 qui était plus compact, plus soigné et surtout qui avait 128Ko de RAM au lieu de 64Ko. |
