The sequel is here!! Yippee! Piranha snap out another with the speed of a flying tortoise. How long's it been since Trapdoor? Anyway it's here now, and with a vengeance.
Berk and Drutt are back with their comic actions and expressions. Don't you think that Bertie's so cute? Boni - sounds like the lead singer of a pop group - has been captured and taken down the trapdoor. Berk is visibly terrified, though Drutt seems undaunted by this truly awesome adventure that lies ahead of the daring duo.
You start off by trying to get B'n'D through the trapdoor. A nice twist so early in the game! It's not hard. B'n'D quite easily survive the long fall and jump up ready for action.
You can control either Berk or Drutt by swapping between them using the fire button. To the left of the bottom of the well screen there is a very nasty spider sanctuary, where Berk must be very careful. If he gets touched by one of them, he will be returned to the well bottom and your bonus will decrease.
The screen to the left of the spider sanctuary contains a bat with an equally electrifying effect on Berk. In the top left hand comer of the screen, a key is suspended. If you manage to get Drutt to jump up at it he can knock it down. The bat will impede his course and you will have to be quick to do it. Once the key has fallen down, you will have to get Berk to it so he can pick it up. The key opens the door. The rest is up to you to find out about.
There are sweeties dotted around the screens, which have curious effects on Berk when he eats them. Some make him bounce, while others make him fly! There are some parts of the game where precision jumping is needed. This sometimes involves making sure that whoever it is that is jumping is at the right height. All will become clear in the game.
The game has the same superbly animated and colourfully drawn graphics as its predecessor The sound is quite nifty too. The only reservation I have is about the gameplay. I found it quite difficult to make Drutt stay still! Anyway, worth a look for the enjoyment of seeing B'n'D bouncing and frolicking around the screen.
