US Gold takes on Epyx games (Popular Computing Weekly) | Games Editeurs |
US GOLD has finally signed the deal with Epyx to lake over the production of Epyx's titles in this country. Previously, the UK licence has been held by CBS, but CBS withdrew from the contract some weeks ago. Epyx's contract with US Gold will become effective from July 1. "We will be selling both new titles and the existing ones such as Pitstop II and Impossible Mission, which will be repackaged with the US Gold logo on the boxes,” explained Tim Chaney, general manager of US Gold. “The first of the new titles will be Summer Carnes II , FBI, and Winter Games, which we are putting on cassette for the Commodore 64,” Tim continued. "We are also working on Impossible Mission for the Spectrum, and eventually both Summer Games II and Winter Games will be converted for the Spectrum and Amstrad, but that's a long way off.” In all. US Gold plans to bring over eight of Epyx's games to the UK in the next year. All are expected to cost £9.95, US Gold's usual price. Epyx is one of the US's most successful software companies. The first showings of Summer Games II and Winter Games were highlights of the Summer CES Show held in Chicago at the beginning of this month. Winter Games (left)
