A new innovation on CPC !! This is the first real plasma ever seen on CPC, coded by... Gozeur of course. When you run the demo, you can see some multicolor vertical bars taking 3/4 the (overscan) screen and staying still, then displays a "Plasma demo" logo at the bottom and the bars begin to scroll faster, faster... Suddenly the bars take a SUPERB horizontal sinus deformation: the Plasma flows into many different and psychedelic shapes in a super smooth animation !!!! The effects are really superb and, moreover, you can create other ones !! By deconnecting the automatic pre-programmed selection of shapes, you are enabled to change ALL the parameters of the two deformations: speed, shape (sinus, etc...), and the horizontal scrolling speed. Under the plasma scrolls a scrolltext (!) with some information about the Contrast group.  
Unfornatunately the additional gfx and music aren't what they should have been for a so magnificent plasma effect: the best !! The few gfx are very classical, the charset of the scrolltext is bleuaarrggg I can't find the words to say it, and the Equinoxe-made sound is ugly (is this a pleonasm ?). Conclusion: get it for fun and code !! ANTOINE pour MM&PF

Le premier de la gamme fut le CPC 464 en 1984, équipé d'un lecteur de cassettes intégré il se plaçait en concurrent du Commodore C64 beaucoup plus compliqué à utiliser et plus cher. Ce fut un réel succès et sorti cette même années le CPC 664 équipé d'un lecteur de disquettes trois pouces intégré. Sa vie fut de courte durée puisqu'en 1985 il fut remplacé par le CPC 6128 qui était plus compact, plus soigné et surtout qui avait 128Ko de RAM au lieu de 64Ko. |
