PCW-to-PC : Transfer Package for Locoscript PC | Applications Divers |
PCW-to-PC solution for delayed word processor Locomotive Software has announced a PCW-to-PC file transfer system for its forthcoming LocoScript PC package, which will now not be released until March 30. The PC version of the million-selling word processor is aimed primarily at current and ex-PCW users upgrading to IBM-compatibles. According to Locomotive Technical Director Richard Clayton these upgraders “will know that with LocoScripf PC they have a word processor which does what they want it to do - including printing £ signs property!” The transfer solution should prove an additional incentive to upgraders, as it will allow both LocoScript 2 and LocoScript 2 documents (ail versions) to be tranferred from a PCW to a PC without loss of formatting commands. The system will consist of a 'super cablef - containing all necessary electronics - and software, and will also be available from March 30. It will cost around £23, although Locomotive expects to offer it at a discount to users who return their LocoScript PC registration cards, Locomotive says that the deJay in LocoScript PC's release has occurred because “Development work on the PC version has taken longer than we origh nally expected," but adds the the extra time taken will ensure that the word pro-cessor “can operate quickly and efficiently even on a simple PC system".
