HERE'S a superb graphic design package that'll entertain you for hours. The program is written to work with a joystick but if you haven't got one, don't despair. Simply replace the JOY(0) > =16 in line 40 with INKEY$=" " and in line 50 change the four JOY statements into INKEY(0) = 0, INKEY (2)-0, INKEY(1)-0 and INKEY(8)-0 respectively. The cursor keys and spacebar can then be used instead of the joystick and fire button. After choosing the screen mode you'll see a summary of the commands. Press Return to get into the editing screen and you will have these facilities at your disposal: - B - Box. Use Fire to fix the lower left and upper right corners. You will then be asked whether you want an outline or filled box.
- C - Circle. First fix the centre and then a point on the circumference.
- K - Copies one area to another. Define the corners of the area as with the box function. Move the cursor to where you want the bottom left corner to be copied to and press Fire again.
- L - Line. Mark the start and end of the line. You can also use Return or Enter.
- G - Loads a screen from tape or disc.
- S - Saves screen.
- I - Changes ink values.
- P - Changes plotting colour.
- R - Sets the border colour.
- E - Clears screen.

Le premier de la gamme fut le CPC 464 en 1984, équipé d'un lecteur de cassettes intégré il se plaçait en concurrent du Commodore C64 beaucoup plus compliqué à utiliser et plus cher. Ce fut un réel succès et sorti cette même années le CPC 664 équipé d'un lecteur de disquettes trois pouces intégré. Sa vie fut de courte durée puisqu'en 1985 il fut remplacé par le CPC 6128 qui était plus compact, plus soigné et surtout qui avait 128Ko de RAM au lieu de 64Ko. |
