This utility takes up only 2K of space on your disc, and it's short and sweet. No-one ever uses CP/M these days, but if you have CP/M Plus, then this could be of use to you. It takes the .EMS file on your CP/M disc and it will convert that into a runnable file called DISC.BIN, which can be saved on to another disc. So what use is that, then?

Well, CP/M Plus is a system format disc, and the first two tracks are reserved for CP/M use. When you type in |CPM, it reads the first sector from the disc and then loads the .EMS file into memory. Now, if you have a data format disc, you can use the CP/M Bootstrap Converter to store CP/M Plus on a data format disc, therefore saving 9K of disc space. You can also copy .COM files to this disc.

If you're interested in this smashing little utility, then you might like toknow that it's yours with this issue of OTTO! Are we nice to you, or what?
